On the 19th of December a new Bape store opened its doors in Singapore, located on Orchard Road you will be able to browse through the latest A Bathing Ape products in a nicely designed 2000 sq. ft. space.
Although I think (afaik) the store is not designed by Wonderwall / Masamichi Katayama it still represents the typical vibe of a BAPE store. Check out the pictures below and make sure to check it out if you are in Singapore.
After Pepsi bottles, Bearbricks and chairs the lifestyle brand A Bathing Ape sets its foot into the computer world designing a Fujitsu FMV netbook. Having the typical BAPE camoflage on it you’ll certainly stand out in the world of netbooks, scheduled for a release in 2010 the technical specs. are not yet known, sure is though that this item is going to be for the japanese market only and will have a japanese OS.
Everyone knows that space is limited in Tokyo even the people that have never been to Tokyo know that and I can imagine that people have seen pictures of shoebox like apartments (or just look at Andis Apt. in Tokyo).
This thing does not apply to you though if you live in Tokyo and your name is Nigo and you have a successful brand called A Bathing Ape.
And you know you’re stuntin if you park your cars inside (!) your house especially cars like that.
Lets have all that as some kind of motivation if you lack space in your own homes ;-).
This time I am featuring the A Bathing Ape – Bape Roadstas in the classic and nice black and white colorway. As you can see the Roadstas have the air pocket and are pretty much based on the Nike Air Max 90 model. The details are just simply stunning we have a nice sole with the Bapestar logos, the big Bapestar on the sides, small detailed bape prints on the inside of the air bubble, stitched Bapestars on the heel and stitched Bapesta logoprint on the tongue plus a detailed written message on the backside of the tongue. Its just a simple and nice design and a must have for every sneakerhead!. Check out Pondon and Pondon’s Webstorefor legit Bape stuff!
If you have ever wondered how Nigo the founder of the brand A Bathing Ape lives you have got the chance to check out this exclusive interview with the man himself. His place is a mad playground all these collectables and artworks everywhere, I love it. Watch it, this time its even in ENGLISH ! haha its a weird dubbed version but its okay at least you understand it without knowing how to speak japanese.
To some people Hiroshi Fujiwara might not be a common name but you wont even imagine how influential he is to the world of fashion and streetwear. He is somewhat the icon or godfather of the Harajuku movement, if you are wearing something by Nike or Levis chances might be that they asked Hiroshi Fujiwara for advice.
Just as an example, most of todays T-Shirts have these little tags on their sleeves. Guess who did it first?
