Just a quick question.

Which video for David Guetta’s and KiD CuDi’s ‘Memories’ do you like the most??

In my opinion it’s not even a question. You better know, which one gets my vote! ;-)

Clipse Til The Casket Drops

The new album by Clipse called Til The Casket Drops is out and has a really cool cover designed by none other than KAWS. Having already seen the Complex cover with the Clipse x KAWS design on it I could imagine that the album cover might have something designed by KAWS aswell. As a fan of both KAWS and Clipse this was an instant buy for me.

I got it via Amazon.com for only 9.99 US$ which is quite cheap for an album with the current Euro :).

Heres also another shot of the Complex issue with Clipse x Kaws cover.

I Luv Got The Groove / Fix Up Look Sharp

Just found this video by accident and wondered where I recently heard the breakbeat.

HF2 I Luv Got The Groove / Fix Up Look Sharp

A look into the comments made me realize oh yeah it was Dizzee Rascal haha.

Of course Hiroshi Fujiwara has to be in the japanese hip hop formation being one of the most influential people in trends and fashion to date without getting most of the credit, no wonder Japan is always a step ahead of everything.

Oh and just as a little sidenote the hat style HF is rockin in the first video I’ve just seen a few month ago on someone elses head again, Pharrell always got the japanoconnect haha ;).

‘Frankfurter Bub’ on The Blueprint 3.

I had something in mind, when I posted that ‘ALLES AUSSER FRANKFURT IST SCHEISSE‘ shirt yesterday. (By the way, the only reasonable translation of that would be ‘FRANKFURT IS THE SHIT’, which is just the complete opposite, if you translate that literally!)

So after we learned, that Frankfurt/Mannheim based Crada produced KiD CuDi’s sond Hyyer for his debut album, we got some more news of that kind for you, because there is also a ‘Frankfurter Bub’ on Jay-Z’s The Blueprint 3. Yap, who would have thought???

j cole the warm up 300x300 Frankfurter Bub on The Blueprint 3.

Every day a star is born, clap for ‘em, clap for ‘em, clap for ‘em: J.Cole it is (featured on the song A Star Is Born)!!! I was made aware of the fact that he was born in Frankfurt by this post on Dodger Hightop, where you can listen to the song that reportedly got him the first deal for an artist on Jay-Z’s new label RocNation. More evidence on JCole’s fan site and his Wikipedia. And for now we will ignore the fact, that he moved back to the USA at the age of 1.

The first person to introduce me to J.Cole was my best friend Ben, who sent me this trailer for his mixtape The Warm Up. Since it was so simple, but still symbolic for stages in your life, we could relate to it not only for basketball reasons.

For more go to his website as I will close this post with this dope video for his song Simba, also shot by BBGUN.

And I wonder, who is the next one that was born in Frankfurt, we may not have heard about yet???

Kanye West x Nabil Elderkin x Spike Jonze – Glow In The Dark Book

Exactly to this date one year ago, I was enjoying Kanye’s Glow In The Dark Tour in Germany along with my best friend Ben, so it’s only right to present his book Glow In The Dark today. The photographs are by Nabil Elderkin and the interview was conducted by Spike Jonze. For a short insight, please watch the video.

You can get the Glow In The Dark Book on Amazon.com and if you want to see some scenes of the Glow In The Dark show, the following video is also for you.

SOUR: Water Flavor EP.

Since Chrishimself turned this thing here in a video posting blog (just kidding of course, but you really should check out those last posts by him….), I also wanted to join the fun by posting this music video featuring a song by Japanese band SOUR from their mini album ‘Water Flavor EP‘, done in webcam-conference-style (if that wasn’t a word before, now it is!).

And in my opinion it’s done in amazingly creative fashion. Now is your chance to watch it finally.

Mos Def in Japan

I watched this show by current.tv called “Embedded” yesterday which follows Mos Def as he tours Tokyo and Osaka.
The whole show runs almost one hour so take your time and watch it, I found it really interesting not only if you are into Mos Def’s music or hip hop music at all but also for getting an insight on how to travel as a well known actor/musician in Japan ;-).

You will also get to see some footage of the Harajuku area and the Neighborhood store that we also visited a few weeks back, check our older blogposts from Japan for that.
