When I was in Hong Kong last year I went around the city aimlessly just feeling the whole vibe and taking pictures with my Lomo LCA camera, thats when I first discovered the famous “sneaker street”.
A whole street just for sneakers, sneaker shop after sneaker shop. Actually the real street name is Fa Yuen street and some also call it Sportswear Street but I like the term “Sneaker Street” more.
You can also catch some fresh exotic fruits on the local market that is awell located on Fa Yuen Street.
Sneaker Street is located between Boundary Street and Dundas Street in Mong Kok, Kowloon, Hong Kong.
Check out my flickr account too to see some of my other snapshots from my Lomo photowalks around the globe :).
No doubt the movie Chungking Express by director Wong Kar Wai is a masterpiece in itself I must have watched it about 3 or 4 times already and I simply love the cinematography and the whole vibe of the movie. Today I dont want to review the movie for you, you can find reviews on rotten tomatoes if you are looking for such kind.
I wanted to talk about a small little location in the movie the small fast food shack called the Midnight Express where young actress Faye Wong is working in the movie.
I took this picture when I was walking around the sidestreets of Hong Kong and found these vendors selling all kinds of fabrics and traditional chinese clothing.
Photo taken with Lomo LC-A, click on image for a better view.
I think this picture was taken somewhere over China but I’m not really sure anymore, I believe it was on the way back to Germany from Hong Kong. I remember that the girl next to me was from China and we had some smalltalk about how she once travelled to Tibet and went all around the mountain areas of China as we looked down the window and that I should try that out once. Someday I actually might, sounds like a great adventure makes me want to go travel the world again :).
Picture was taken with a Lomo LC-A, a small analogue camera. Check out the “Random Shot” category for more.
