Chiddy Bang Bang Bang!

It’s not very often, that I watch a music video from start till end. This right here is an exception because of the cool idea and the dope song. I once was a kid, all I had was a dream.

Thanks to the guys from German streetwear brand BEASTIN for the heads-up.

In other music and really sad news – I’m sure all of you have heard about it – Guru of Gang Starr died from cancer at the age of 43. Frankfurt dee-jay DJ Kitsune posted download links to a radio show he did with him once and also to his Guru tribute on German radio station Jam FM. Keep his legacy alive! Rest in peace, Guru.

Ohayo Japan! Pt.3

Heres a little random post to keep you updated I’m still going to be here for about 4 more days and yesterday we had some touristy adventures to the Kaminarimon temple again.

IMG 4460 Ohayo Japan! Pt.3

This time the gods decided to give me “best fortune” when I did the thing with the sticks and the letters,
last time wasnt so good check out the old video from last year here.

Talking about last year, I think I had a picture with a similar pose ;)

IMG 4431 Ohayo Japan! Pt.3

The temple had alot of little booths offering whatever the tourists heart longs for, especially the food selection
was great. I dont know the name of those things, I believe its some rice cake like mochi with atsuki beans inside and fried with different flavour, the green one is macha green tea and the pink one is peach.
Tasted good!

Some more impressions of the temple area.

Ohayo Japan! Pt. 1

Hey guys as some of my friends already know I am back in Tokyo and so far I’m accomodating to all the new circumstances, all the confusion, the jet lag etc.
But you know what its all worth it, I thought I would share some of the oddities that you can encounter while you are in Tokyo with you. Not to make you jealous, mh maybe a little bit ;-) but who knows maybe you have never thought of going to Japan and this will help you with your decision.

IMG 4301 Ohayo Japan! Pt. 1

I woke up early, my hostel is near Akihabara the so called electric town of Tokyo it has everything that your electronic geek heart can ask for plus much much more and I mean more! Gaming, Idols, Maids, Food, Health Material ;-).
The Streets were still very empty I later want to that Gorilla Curry place on the other street side.

IMG 4285 Ohayo Japan! Pt. 1

I went out when the total rush our hit.. until 9 in the morning the trains are filled to the brim with people so I wouldnt go out that early if I were you, maybe its not for all trains but for sure for the JR Chuo line coming from the Chiba area, its were all the salary workers travel towards Tokyo from the more outside areas, you will see armys of SUITS! haha.

IMG 4286 Ohayo Japan! Pt. 1

The japanese train authority invented the (I think) first women only cart, for obvious reasons… we stink, I guess. Time to take a shower and use deoderant guys! ;-)
I’m using AXE at the moment I wonder about the AXE effect inside one of those women only carts, when I accidentally enter one, like the gaijin that I am haha.

IMG 4288 Ohayo Japan! Pt. 1

Talking about gaijin (which is the japanese short word for gaikokujin meaning outsider or simply foreigner) there is a new movie coming out based on this manga/novel called “my darling is a foreigner” I havent heard much about it yet but the trailer looks interesting I wonder if I can get me a subtitled copy of that.

IMG 4308 Ohayo Japan! Pt. 1

The konbini (japanese convinience store) can be quite a life saver they stock almost everything for your daily life needs.

IMG 4334 Ohayo Japan! Pt. 1

This is what will happen to wack rappers in every country! Start quitting the business and sell sausages cause you wouldnt sell two records even if you did a double album. haha ;-P (stole that verse I know)

IMG 4318 Ohayo Japan! Pt. 1

Theres also a bunch of book (mooks) and magazine stores, heres the latest copy of shoe masters, to all the sneaker heads outside step your sneaker game up when you come to Tokyo cause you will definetly see some crazy neckbreakers out here ;-)

IMG 4319 Ohayo Japan! Pt. 1

Also alot of photography magazines availible and my personal camera of choice.

IMG 4298 Ohayo Japan! Pt. 1

Okay I’m going to close this post with kamen no riiiidaaaa DRINKS !
Only in Japan ;-)

Cheers from London, Part 3.

So today was the day after the race and I’ll get to that in the video. Just this right now: It was an amazing experience and even though Oxford lost, you can only be proud of the guys!!!

I wanted to do only three things today, but I was running around the city for 10 hours to do so. That’s just how big London is. Today’s post is also an iPhone edition, because I couldn’t take my regular cam to the Fulham game.

My first stop was the Sunday Up Market near Brick Lane. Small booths offered fashion items like shirts, hats, glasses and also art and bootleged music (Or is there maybe any other word for CDs that are recorded from vinyl??).

london brick lane 1 sunday up market 1 Cheers from London, Part 3.

Dan Hillier has also a booth on this market and I went to check it out and have a brief conversation with him, because he has a design in the ‘Sag es mit einem Design’ contest from Freiraum and in my opinion he does some extraordinary work, that I haven’t seen from anybody else.

london brick lane 2 sunday up market 2 dan hillier Cheers from London, Part 3.

On this market I found a booth with lots of these blocks. I just had to get me some.

london brick lane 3 sunday up market 3 blocks Cheers from London, Part 3.

Outside on Brick Lane, there was also lot of stuff going on like it apparently does on every Sunday.

london brick lane 4 Cheers from London, Part 3.

I also noticed an incredible amount of vintage shops everywhere I went here in London.

london brick lane 5 Cheers from London, Part 3.

Some American Apparel Sale was going down, too.

london brick lane 6 Cheers from London, Part 3.

Around this area I found lots of streetart, cool designs and again some stickers. :)

After I only could spent about an hour there, I had to rush to Putney again to catch the Premier League game between Fulham FC and Wigan Athletic. I had to go to one of those, while I’m here.

What I really like was that this an old stadium and not a new football palace. In the picture above you can see, that from the street, it looks like an old fabric or something.

london fulham fc 2 Cheers from London, Part 3.

He has to be to them what MJ was to the Bulls.

london fulham fc 3 Cheers from London, Part 3.

And finally, this was the view from my seat. It was tough to decide, whether to follow the game or observe this poor guy in the orange jacket, because his tough battle against not falling asleep was much more entertaining. But the second half offered a much better effort, so there was no question anymore. And I’m glad about it, because otherwise I don’t know, if I would’ve seen the ball coming directly into my direction at one point. Unfortunately, I had to throw it back. Would have been a nice souvenir. Oh, and Fulham also scored two goals in the second half to their 2-1 victory.

london fulham fc 4 Cheers from London, Part 3.

The weather was really great today, so I could enjoy my walk along the Thames back to the Underground station. And yes, you can call me a Fulham fan from now on! Hehehe…

My final task for the day was to spoil my stomach even more with the best pizza in town. And man, is this a pizza or what?? You don’t even see the plate anymore. Also tasted amazingly.

You can get it, too: Indo Pub, 133 Whitechapel Road, London, UK

I also noticed this on my way home.

I’ll be leaving for Oxford tomorrow to chill with Simon, so don’t expect me to post from there. See you, when I’m back in Frankfurt.

Go, Dark Blues!

london simon oxford 2 Go, Dark Blues!

The reason why I am in London is this guy right here: Simon. He’s rowing for the Oxford eight this year in the big race against Cambridge. About 250,000 people will be at the banks of the Thames to witness this event with their own eyes while millions will be watching it in front of the TV.

What he achieved in the last years is beyond amazing. After having won a U23 world championship for Germany and rowing four years at Harvard (of course while studying there!!), this has to be his dream coming true. And I’m really happy for him.

In Germany, you can watch it live at Eurosport starting from 17:00, but it is broadcasted worldwide, so check your local listings. And please keep your fingers crossed.

Cheers from London, Part 2: Stickers.

Hey, I started today with a nice breakfast and a walk along the Thames to Tower Bridge. Then, I went on to attend another Oxford practice, so I could speak to Simon before the race tomorrow. He’s so busy these days, running around through London with TV crews and stuff. Crazy…

After that, I just walked around the city and noticed there are really cool stickers everywhere around town. Here are some of them.

Afterwards, I also made it to Camden. It seemed to me like there has to be a tattoo and piercing studio in each house. But then, it suddenly turned into a really diverse place.

london camden 1 Cheers from London, Part 2: Stickers.

There were some really amazing shops – or stalls as they were called, because in former times it must have been some horse market or whatever – offering everything from vintage clothes to art to music and also food.

And if you should ever see some two bad boys like those here in front of a store: GO IN!!!! I wasn’t allowed to take any pictures, but I’ve never experienced a store like this.

Cheers from London, Part 1.

Hey everybody,

Cheers from London!! I got here yesterday by the Eurostar train, that runs under the English Channel. I really wanted to experience this, but I’m glad to travel home by plane after all. I finally got to my hostel somehow and met up with Dani, who I went to school with. She has been living here for some months now alreadyyyyy. I catched the last minutes of the Champions League match between Arsenal and Barça and what can I say… After I entered the pub, Arsenal scored two goals. After that, she and her roommate took me to some nice bakeries and also to a cool pub. Dani even wore some OG Adidas sneakers, that her grandma used to rock in the 70s, but due to all the talking and laughing I unfortunately forgot to take a picture of them.

So, here’s the first pic for you: Tower Bridge & me. I have to admit, that I wasn’t feeling too well this morning, but anywayz…

london tower bridge Cheers from London, Part 1.

The first thing I bought is easily the most useful of all the things I bought today, but also the most unspectacular one.

london adapter Cheers from London, Part 1.

Anywayz, I got on the tube to Putney Bridge to check out one of Simon‘s practices with the Oxford eight. The Boat Race on Saturday between Oxford and Cambridge is why I made this trip. Here he is with the white cap.

london simon oxford Cheers from London, Part 1.

Oh, and by the way, they even have the Oxford University Boat Club seal on their rubber botts. Now, that’s style!! After the practice I made my way to Soho. First stop was the BAPE store, where the staff was so amazingly friendly. I got me this coin case, because, you know, when you get the chance to go into a BAPE store…

Not far away is Carnaby Street, where you’ll find also some nice shops. I went into the WeSC store and came out with these limited edition headphones, including a matching Be@rbrick and also some sort of bag, also in the same colours.

I also went into size? and they really have a good variety of sneakers, but it was too crowded for my taste.

In the streets nearby I also discovered this cool store dedicated to Lomo cams.

After some more stores, but I won’t get into it, I decided it was finally time to eat something. I remembered that crazy restaurant located in Soho, so I went there. The food was tasty, the waiters were super friendly and the whole thing was a cool experience, as you order everything by clicking on the table. I hope you’ll understand in my final video.

I also did the photo shooting for my WeSC headphones and the BAPE coin case on my table (go back and check the pics again!) as the menu and images are all projected onto the table. Oh, and Diddy, they also serve Ciroc there.
