Nippon Connection 2009 is over and I got around to watch 5 films this year compared to the last two times I attended Nippon Connection thats 5 more hehe. Here are a few pictures of this years NC.
Make sure to check out “Locked Out” a japanese road movie directed by Yasunobu Takahashi which I was glad to meet during this years Nippon Connection. Check out the website!
People waiting in line to watch “Locked Out”.
Food was also taken care of, all sorts of japanase dishes availible I liked the curry rice they had.
There was a Sake workshop where you could try out different kinds of Sake and learn about the process and what makes a good Sake good! I almost liked them all, big fan of Sake now hehe. Make sure to check out our local Sake supplier if you live in the Rhein/Main area of Germany. Heres the link.
Hello Kitty representing too hehe.
There was a nice lounge and chill out area where you could just hang out and play a few video games.
Filmmaker gatherings at Nippon Connection the topic was “japanese women in the film industry” made me think of one of my japanase classmates in filmschool, she also did a great job directing, maybe the next big movies out of Japan are made by women hehe.
Well if you have been to this years Nippon Connection I really hope you enjoyed it and most of the movies, I mostly enjoyed Detroit Metal City (live action) which also won the Nippon Cinema Award this year. If you want to attend next year please check the official website and I hope to see you there next year!.
peace!
